Branding, marketing and seller services might seem like a lot to take on. It’s probably why I never have an answer for people who ask me what my hobbies are, or what I like do in my free time. The truth is that I’m completely immersed in what I do. I’m excited for the future of e-commerce in India and the niche ShopClues will carve for itself in this space.
We’re developing such an exciting range of products, some which have never been seen before. The ability to do something like that definitely trumps everything else. The Sales Booster, for example, is one of my favourites. Targeting customers who have abandoned their carts and enticing them to make a purchase with an offer or a discount is something that doesn’t exist anywhere else!
We’re designing packages for merchants across the board. Newcomers can get started on Shopclues with help from Business Gurus (dedicated business managers) and AdZone (marketing and branding at costs as low as a thousand rupees). We provide digital identities and the ability to spin off as your own personal brand for mature merchants. To help merchants manage their business needs better, we’re enabling working capital loans and digital payment solutions for their retail stores. It’s amazing what we’ve been able to do to add value for merchants in such a short span of time.
Everything that we create is a result of direct interaction with merchants. It’s always an eye opener when we do Seller Summits. You need to carve out time to kind of get down to the grassroots of your own organisation. Understand things from a different perspective and then figure out a way to make it work. We’re building products to address specific problems as a result of our interactions.
So if people ask me what I’m most excited about in e-commerce, and this a question I am asked quite frequently, I think that I’m excited to revolutionise every single tier of merchants in the ecosystem. There is value in what we create. There is no better feeling than that.
