We, at ShopClues are extremely delighted to be associated with some really inspiring and motivating stories. Today, we are glad to share the story of one of our star merchants, Mr. Rahul Verma of GRV store! Here’s an interview we did with him that showcases his journey.
Q1: Tell us something about yourself?
I’m from Delhi. By profession, I’m an engineer. After completing my engineering, I was placed in an MNC in Noida as Sales manager but soon after understanding the opportunity in E-Commerce Industry, I left my job and I started my own online business. I always aspired to be an Entrepreneur, and I took a chance by deciding to follow my dreams. How else do you break free!
Q2: Tell us when you get into e-commerce?
I had a vision to drive business and was willing to take risk at a young age, so I left my job. After that, I became a full-time seller inflatable water park on Shopclues. I started searching for options. That is when I found out that Beauty products was a good option. I started initially as a trader and earned huge margins out of that. I just started my own manufacturing 6 months ago.
Q3: How was your journey – from day 1 to where you are now?
This journey has been a roller coaster ride. I have seen all the up & down possible. One big plus point about selling online has is that, I don’t have to go to the customer the customer comes to me. This helps you to channelize my mind in setting up new products to seek loyal customers .
Q4: What are a few practices you follow that have made you successful
I wouldn’t call it practices but something that I really believe in –
- Always think as a customer before thinking like a seller.
- Treat your employ like your family and equal stakeholder in your success
- Innovation is key, as thinking outside the box will only work when you know what’s inside the box.
